Fringe

Hey beauties, Happy New Year!
This is my first blog post for 2016, everyone's feeling excited about the new year, new opportunities and surprises what it has to bring. I can't believe it's back to work for me today, so no more free spirit and doing as I please but it's still festive season so I'll just enjoy what's left of it. One of the definitions of Boho is free spirit, that's exactly how I feel when I'm on holiday, no work, no worries, even the loose clothing and different colours and textures gives the feel of free spirit, and not the everyday office colours of black and white.

This time of the year I love to dress boho, its so comfortable, so chic and easy because anything goes. Last year this time I did a Boho inspiration post on how to compile quick boho outfits, you can check it out here if you like.

About the outfit
This is the most cheapest easiest look ever, a Mr Price fringe top paired with a Jet palazzo pants and Whalla! You can wear it with flats, gladiators, wedges. And the best part you don't have to worry about hair,  loose wavy hair, or with a hat or tie it in a turban. Basically any accessories will do, you free to do just what you like.

Rage Wedges / Yde earings, sunglasses & fashtatoos

Saturday we had such a lovely time at the beautiful Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens ,we walked so much, relaxed and admired the beauty, Ma sha Allah. My two year old daughter had so much fun but unfortunately this little rebel don't listen so had a few bruises on her knees and forehead because of all the running and falling. This picture at the bottom is just proof of that, see how she's running on the 'boomslang' tree canopy walkway.

Pictures where taken with my Sony Experia, my camera broke but I still love the way they came out.
Hope you enjoyed my post and thank you for reading my blog.

1 . Like Shiny-Sequins Blog on Facebook Here (if you already liked the page,go to step 2)

2. Share this post on Facebook  (either from here or from my Facebook page)

As simple as that  :)

Midi rings and Hand chains

Jewellery is the last thing I put on to complete my outfit. Midi rings has been one of the biggest fashion trends for a while and it doesn't look like it's going anywhere soon because there's always different designs and styles coming out. What can I say about hand chains, it can look good on any hand, old or young, it gives that bling to your hand, with so many styles to choose from you'll just get confused choosing. With the warmer days coming it will look so good on your hand also giving that boho feel.
Believe it or not It's not everyone that knows about midi rings or hand chains etc. I get asked alot what is this small little rings called on your fingers?

Here's how you can more or less wear it, there's no right or wrong, have fun with it.1

Jewelery is like putting on lipstick

Midi rings : Legit
Hand Chain : MrP
Coin Necklace :Zuri
Pearl Armbands : Yde

The top picture I have less rings on giving more attention to the handchain but if you feel for more midi rings, I don't see why not. (Bottom picture )

These silver jewellery are all from Zuri, got them for super cheap at their sale two weeks ago . The rings can even be turned around for a different look, and the silver arm Cuff goes perfectly with the rings hey.

Would you wear your jewellery like this or do you feel it's too much?
I like wearing mine so for those prying eyes always looking at a persons hands I love giving them some eye candy  :)

Effortlessly Boho

Hey Beauties

So I've said it in my previous posts before, for the quickest and chic'est outfit I always go for black, you'll never go wrong, right. Everyone does that, some even say it makes them look thinner.hehe.

Recently I'm such a turbanista, I've been trying different turban styles and wanted to try this one and thought it went great with this look. I love anything paisley and when I saw this paisley printed leggings at Jay-Jays I knew I had to have it,  I even envisioned myself wearing black and silver accessories with it , I got it on sale for only R100. The top I'm wearing is from Mr Price and sunglasses from Cotton On,  both sale items. Now tell me how lucky can one be when you out shopping and find marked downs. The black chiffon Kimono I got at the night market in Town while out with family one night and thought this would go nicely over the leggings to cover certain parts. And finally to complete the look, I saw these block heels at fashion express and knew they would go perfect with this outfit, what do you think? For the finishing touches I added silver chunky bangles and ring, a Boho chain I got from a friend years ago, could be eight years already, just shows boho never goes out of fashion.

Outfit details:

Paisley printed leggings: Jay-Jays

Earrings, Scarf and Top : MrP

Kimono : Night market

Block Heels : Fashion Express

Bag : Nine-West

Sunglasses : Cotton On

Bangles: Edgars

Watch : Fossil

Looks:Kimono,Beach and Scenery

Hey Beauties, Happy Tuesday   :)

Last week everyone was so worried and sad about the fire that hit Cape Town on our beautiful Table Mountain, so much damage was done. I'm not going in detail but people's homes got destroyed, old age home,  I don't even want to think of the animals that got hurt or died but it was reported that a lot was saved. Then to the amazing fire fighters that put their lives at risk to do an amazing job well done, but unfortunately the saddest part of it all is the ones that lost their lives and the family left behind, may they find peace in their heart. All these things just made me realise how lucky we are to be alive and even more lucky to stay in this beautiful city, we must appreciate it, that's why I will never go anywhere without at least taking even one picture of the scenery. So I thought I'd share some pictures I took not too long ago when we were out for the day that side.

Family Photo Shoot(Part Two): Love is in the air

So It’s Valentines Day :) Happy Valentines to those celebrating.

I’m ten years married now so I’m not a Valentines fanatic anymore like I used to, well I won’t say I don’t celebrate it, we just don’t go out of our way, like booking a room in a five star restaurant just for a night because its Valentines, I do however enjoy the little things like breakfast in bed, lindt chocolates and roses. We do buy each other small gifts though and if my husband’s not working we’ll maybe go out on the eve for the fun of it and to keep the excitement going in our marriage but this year I said I want to go have a picnic, I'm sure my daughter will enjoy that, she loves the outdoors.
What ever you have planned and desire, I wish you ladies a happy day and hope you get spoilt. :)
In this week I shared pictures of our Photo shoot we did with Mecadee Photography for our tenth anniversary, today I’ll share my favourite part of the photo shoot. This part of the Photo Shoot brought back so much memories, so much love and so much happiness, what made it even more special was the fact that my daughter was there with us. Ten years ago we took our wedding pictures at that very Gardens, like I said in one of my previous posts , same gardens, same couple just ten years later, well the only difference is we back with a whole lot of memories, more love and we have Shazia to show it.
I mentioned that I had two different looks for the shoot and this one is the wedding like look.

What I'm wearing:
Most of the things I wore are special to me because it’s gifts from my husband like the long dress, he bought me a year ago. The necklace he bought me at Zuri one eve we where out shopping, my eyes always wander around, a big problem I have and he just can’t say no to me. The Shivon Shawl I wore the morning of my wedding day, its part of the abaya.

Necklace: Zuri ||Headchain:zulululu ||Scarfs: Thruworths and Jay-Jays| |Belt:Yde ||Dress: Gift ||Shivon Shawl (Old) Top Boutique ||Shoes: (Old )from my closet |Make up :by me
