Family Photo Shoot(Part Two): Love is in the air

So It’s Valentines Day :) Happy Valentines to those celebrating.

I’m ten years married now so I’m not a Valentines fanatic anymore like I used to, well I won’t say I don’t celebrate it, we just don’t go out of our way, like booking a room in a five star restaurant just for a night because its Valentines, I do however enjoy the little things like breakfast in bed, lindt chocolates and roses. We do buy each other small gifts though and if my husband’s not working we’ll maybe go out on the eve for the fun of it and to keep the excitement going in our marriage but this year I said I want to go have a picnic, I'm sure my daughter will enjoy that, she loves the outdoors.
What ever you have planned and desire, I wish you ladies a happy day and hope you get spoilt. :)
In this week I shared pictures of our Photo shoot we did with Mecadee Photography for our tenth anniversary, today I’ll share my favourite part of the photo shoot. This part of the Photo Shoot brought back so much memories, so much love and so much happiness, what made it even more special was the fact that my daughter was there with us. Ten years ago we took our wedding pictures at that very Gardens, like I said in one of my previous posts , same gardens, same couple just ten years later, well the only difference is we back with a whole lot of memories, more love and we have Shazia to show it.
I mentioned that I had two different looks for the shoot and this one is the wedding like look.

What I'm wearing:
Most of the things I wore are special to me because it’s gifts from my husband like the long dress, he bought me a year ago. The necklace he bought me at Zuri one eve we where out shopping, my eyes always wander around, a big problem I have and he just can’t say no to me. The Shivon Shawl I wore the morning of my wedding day, its part of the abaya.

Necklace: Zuri ||Headchain:zulululu ||Scarfs: Thruworths and Jay-Jays| |Belt:Yde ||Dress: Gift ||Shivon Shawl (Old) Top Boutique ||Shoes: (Old )from my closet |Make up :by me

Family: Photoshoot (Part One)

So the month of love has arrived.
For those who read my previous blog posts will know that my husband and I celebrated our tenth wedding anniversary in December, I wrote a post about it We reached Platinum. I mentioned that we did a Family Photo Shoot that weekend, I received my pictures but didn’t do a post about it on the blog yet,  sooo what better time to do it than in the month of LoooVe :)
The Photo Shoot was done by a lovely lady Melissa from Mecadee Photography (you can find her on her facebook page here ) I heard of her through a friend that I told I wanted to do a photo shoot. I was in luck because at the time she had a special running. She’s amazing, not only is she a great photographer, she’s friendly and she made us feel very comfortable.
I had two looks in my mind for the shoot the one a wedding kinda look and the second one I wanted a more relaxed and playful look so I went for a boho look. I envisioned everything in my mind, here I coudn’t just focus on myself I had to think what I’m going to wear, what Shazia is going to wear as well as my husband.  Did I mention I had to use my dressing skills because photographers don’t have much time, so I didn't have much time to change, in a minute I had to be ready for the second look, lol I just took of my accessories and changed my shoes, fixed my hair and on we went to the next part.
This Photo Shoot was very special to me, well obviously, it was my tenth wedding anniversary a big big milestone in my life, my long awaited daughter was present with us, everything just felt right at the time and I'm sure the happiness reflects in the pictures, well you can be the judge off that, lol.

I’ve decided to do the blog posts in different parts beacause it's just too much to go in one post. I’m so happy with the results and how beautiful my pictures came out...hehe, enough rambling lets get to thee pics….

Mommy Talk: a Mothers instinct

Hey Shinies

So it's back to normal, back to work, back to action.
For those that didn't read my previous post, Happy New Year to you.

Today I'm sitting at work, all alone, my colleagues only starting next week, while I am sitting here I so just want to be home, home with my sick little girl. As I left this morning she cried her lungs out (like some people say),she always cry when I leave but not like this morning, she will cry but before I start the car I usually hear her stop, I felt so sad, a baby wants to be with their mommy when they sick, everyone knows that rite, no matter how much they are over their daddies or grannies, they want their MOMMIES! That's why I always say I so envy stay at home moms :(

I remember when I was pregnant and I said I'm scared to become a mother, I'm so scared I'm going to make a mistake, and mommies always told me you will get your motherly instinct, it kicks in as soon as you become one, that's so true. A mothers instinct is never to be ignored. A month ago my daughter got sick, fever, cough ,vomiting and didn't want to eat at all that day,  we took her to the doctor and she said its tonsillitis ,it got worse, she started vomiting each day and the cough just got worse.
A week passed and no improvement, I went to the pharmacy ,explained and they said that she's swallowing the flem and its making her nauseas then she vomits, another week went by and no improvement, still the same case, bringing up all her food when coughing. Took her to a different doctor which then said her tonsils does look swollen and red, again antibiotics, ear infection and nose meds and off we go.
Two weeks passed by and no improvement , fever again and still the bad cough and bringing up plus now she has a outbreak on her skin and lips too , I knew something wasn't rite, so I decided to go see a specialist at the hospital, explained everything ,he prescribed medicine, a whole lot ,again antibiotics!, gosh my poor child lives on antibiotics, he gave two options, said its up to me, either see how it goes for two weeks after taking the medicine then if it continues come back OR we book her in now and take tests to find out what's causing this, I sat and my thoughts just went mad in my head,,,,I'm supposed to start work tomorrow, my poor baby, what if this, what if that, then I just said, 'Book her in'. I knew I wasn't going to get any sleep in the hospital, I'm gonna hate it when they draw blood and stuff and she cries for me but I just want her to get better, and to find out what is wrong with her.

The best decision I made, after taking several tests. The results came back that she has Pertussis —commonly called whooping cough is a highly contagious bacterial disease caused by Bordetella pertussis. In some countries, this disease is called the 100 days' cough or cough of 100 days.
Mommies read up on Pertussis sometimes we think a cough is just a cough and will go away.
She had all her vaccines done but still got it. To think for a month she was walking around with this disease, I'm glad I went with that gut feeling and trusted my instincts, I don't know what could have happened because I read it can be fatal, we went out a lot over December, we thought that she'd get better by the day because two doctors and pharmacist said its tonsils and flem, she was her normal self, running around, busy little girl like she is, just that cough bothered me that didn't want to go away, and vomiting every time is not good at all.So mommies trust that instinct because no doctor or nurse or pharmacists knows your child the way you do.
The sunday before I took her to the hospital we had lunch at a friend and her daughter is also sick now, has a fever and sores in her mouth, still figuring out what's wrong with her.
Everyone in the house, myself ,husband and mom got antibiotics prescribed to take.

Any parent will tell you the worse thing is to have a sick child, you feel more sick but must keep strong for babies sake, to see your poor little girl or boy in pain and you can do nothing but give meds. Wait I'm lying you can give love, lots of love and prayer :)
The connection of mother to child might be more deeply rooted than what one might initially think. This experience has been a guide for me to block out the noise of others and always trust my motherly instincts, because no one knows my child better than me.

I just felt like sharing my story, always trust your instinct, especially when it comes to a baby.

                                                                   Happy Weekend and Keep Shining

Happy New Year, Welcome 2015

Good day Shinies

Happy New Year, even though it's not our Islamic new year we still celebrate new years, everyone does, all religions, everyone all over the world.
My wish to everyone is to have a spectacular 2015, let it be a great one,may all your dreams and wishes come true and most importantly may we strive to become better individuals.
Whether 2014 has been a good or bad year for me I accept it as it is, whatever happened,  happened and was supposed to ,so I'm grateful.

To Love
To those that found new happiness in their lives I wish you all of the best, may your love grow from strength to strength.
Friends we lost and ones we gained. They say there's a reason they came into our lives even if it's just for a small period of time.
Loved once we lost and new ones that were born.

To Success
To the ones that had a successful year well done, but to those that feel they weren't successful this year, well here's to the new year, new possibilities, new opportunities.

To the Future
Everyone takes the new year as a clean page to start over, to start fresh,to new beginnings!
All the mistakes, losses, sadness we went through in the current year, to forget about it and start over.

Every year we start the year of with a bang, we make new years resolutions,we all know new years resolutions don't last too long, hehe, ,,we get to the second week or so then we give up,to those that stick to it, good for you.
There are really some resolutions I could work on like exercising,  less spending and more saving I'm sure everyone feel there's some they could work on.

Most common new years resolutions I always hear people make:
* exercise or exercise more
*eat less ,eat less take aways
*spend less
*oh and save more
*travel ,see new places
*study
*new job maybe
*focus on career
*and those that drink and smoke say they will stop this year, Oh wait they say they will stop every year.lol

From my heart
I just want to Shukr ,Thank the few who have been with me through the hardest of times. Thank you. I am blessed to have such amazing  people in my life. 2014 has been a challenging yet at the same time exciting and an amazing year for me. Thank you for staying around ♡
All praises be to the Creator for the chance to live throughout 2014, the good and bad memories. It is all this that make us all human and grow.
May Allah SWT forgive our sins, bless us with contentment in this world and  happiness in the Hereafter. °
Hello 2015. New chapter. ♡

Lookpost:Turban mixed Gypsey..

Hey there Shinies...

I'm so happy, it's practically the last working day of twenty fourteen for me, besides the fact that we must be at the office again on Monday to do the last finishes.

I guess the holiday mode was kicking in way in advance, normally I'll wear high heels and formal clothes to the office but slacked down to maxi's and wedges even flats two weeks ago.

In this week I wore my paisley dress I bought from Edgars(Kelso) a few years ago.I still love it till this day, it has a gypsey boho flair to it, the colourful paisley-printed chiffon, and the fact that its a maxi dress makes it a winner.

I always love trying out different scarf styles and attempted to try out the Turban style which I think went perfect with the dress, I styled it with accessories and a pair of white wedges from Foschini, bought three weeks ago(I think its sold out now, because my husband had to go to a different branch to get this pair).

Pictures taken in my favourite garden at my parents (in laws) place.

Seasons Greetings and Keep Shining
