Fashion: Glam up your look with a kimono

Can you believe we already saying farewell to this beautiful month of Ramadaan. It's totally unbelievable how the month just flew by and this is the time when most people are running around for their last Eid shopping, my thoughts and duas are with my sister in-law in Namibia while they preparing to say their final goodbyes to their beloved father. Two weeks ago my husband also lost a very close friend, for the first two weeks of Ramadaan every night after taraweeg he visited him at the hospital and it was a very sad day of his janazaah, leaving behind his wife and four beautiful kids. This month has once again opened my eyes to what's really important in life and that we are only on this dunya (earth) for a very short time.

I haven't been posting much on social media because I told myself before the start of Ramadaan that I will limit myself and not spend too much time online. The Eid inspo looks and collab photoshoots I was approached to do, a Tv interview and a pop-up launch of an international brand I was invited to, with everything that happened this past month this all never happened, Allah knows best. Seeing that I never got around posting this lookpost even though this photoshoot was done more than two months ago I thought why not share it now it may just be some inspiration to someone.

I won this kimono last year October at an event and I loved it from the moment it was handed over to me on stage, I was reminded that it's one of a kind and reason being it's from the first collection of kimono's ever made by @Europa_ede. Many clients wanted to purchase it that day and I do see why. This kimono is the center of attraction I won't forget the day I did this photoshoot while roaming around Rhodes Memorial from the one spot to the next I received so many stares and compliments from people that day, but those good stares you know.
I love the flowiness, the beautiful print and the pop of vibrance it brings to the outfit. You really don't have to do much to make it stand out because the kimono speaks for itself and that's where I incorporated the perfect maxi dress, matching scarf and block heel which complimented the kimono perfectly. This kimono can be styled differently for all occasions, I even think this look can easily work for Eid.

Eid Ul Fitr 2017

Good day Beautiful people,

I know this post is super late because life has just been super hectic! I'm sharing a few pictures of Eid Ul Fitr that we celebrated on the 26th of June and as you now Eid is a very special day in any Muslims life and is celebrated with family and friends. This Eid was different to other Eids, something felt missing and has been feeling so every Eid since my mother in-law passed on, my sister in-law and kids from Namibia also didn't join us for Eid this year and my husband slept half of the day away because he was'nt feeling well at all. My daughter was just the cutest even though she didnt quite understand what was wrong with her father, she went to check up on him every few minutes, stood infront of him to make sure he's still ok and stroked his hair and kissed him then went off to play again for a while again. So beautiful to see the love between daddy and daughter, I tried my best to make the day enjoyable for her.

If you follow me on Instagram you would have seen my posts about Muneeb that recently went for an operation, hence the hectic part and it was difficult not only for him in the beginning but for me too, he could'nt move much so I had to help him alot but he came around very quickly and was better in no time, Alhamdulilah I Shukr Allah for that.
We managed to atleast get one family pic on the day, over the years it became a tradition to take family pictures on Eid.

Lookpost : Eid Ul Adha

Three days ago Muslims all over the world celebrated Eid Ul Adha(the feast of sacrifice)in the Arab
countries its celebrated over several days, so I guess it's okay for me to still say Eid Mubarak to
those celebrating, I hope you had a wonderful day with your famil and friends. Once again in Cape
Town were blessed with beautiful sunny weather on this holy day.I don't know if it's just me but I
always feel that the day just fly by so quickly and I'm always so busy with food preparation that it
makes me feel so tired through the rest of the day. But regardless of how tired I feel I still enjoy
the day and get some family and outfit pics taken.

I'm going to share my eid 'ootd' outfit of the day and again I can brag by saying I didn't
shop and buy new clothes or shoes, I mixed and mached whatever I had. Even though the
top I'm wearing for the first time, it was hanging in my cupboard for more than a year.
Since my daughter came into my life I'm no longer the socialite I used to be, so my clothes
hang longer now. So lets get to thee outfit details. The grey skirt I had custom made a few
years ago and matched it with the top,bag and shoes.
The scarf I got as a gift from an aunt when she came from Saudi Arabia.

Eid: Lookpost

Salaams & Hello beauties ♡ Happy Friday!

Hope everyone is doing great, I had one mad week but between all the madness I got some exciting news too, will share it next time when its actually in the process of happening.
So this is kind of a delayed post ,after being home for Ramadan with my daughter and returning back to work the Monday after Eid has left me with no time on my hands and also delayed my eid lookpost, even that felt like too much to do ,everything feels like a rush again, rush to work, rush from work to pick up my daughter, rush home to cook ,etc...
So on the topic of Eid or Labarang like some capetonians call it ,I'm happy to say it turned out to be such a beautiful sunny day filled with laughter and joy, Alhamdulilaah, I always love Eid atmosphere, everyone's so jolly and even in a more happier mood if its sunny. If Eid had been the Friday then we would have had to stay indoors because it was storming  whole day. I was actually so glad when the moon wasn't sighted the Thursday eve because I really wanted to still get me a henna tattoo, hehe ,sound like a small little girl hey but at the time I thought it would go really well with my outfit I'm gonna wear and I think it did hey.

You won't believe me when I say I didn't buy me anything new for Eid , I was focusing more on getting something for my daughter. This was actually the first time I got her an Eid outfit since she was born all the other times she wore outfits she got as gifts :)
I don't know why but I just loveee matching her with me ,even if its just the same colour.

About my look.
The maroon top I wore I got as a gift from a very close friend last year and never got a chance to wear it, I love the long length and how it covers and of course the sequins, everybody knows I love anything with sequins. The shoes I got as a Valentines gift from my husband, I obviously choose the colour to go with the top and to my surprise when it arrived it matched perfectly, and I must say they are very comfy, I walked and ran in them whole day, yes on Eid of all days when my stomach is constantly full and I must run after my busy daughter too. The scarf was my mother in laws. The head chain I bought from a online store Zulululu lastyear. Whole day where ever I went I was told I looked like an Egyptian lady . lol ....

Eid Inspiration

Hey my beautiful shiny readers

So it's that time of the year again, everyone is looking for something to wear on the special day of Eid. All the years we had to go shop hunt for hours and days on end to get something to wear but the internet has made it so much easier to shop these days, you can be lying in bed and scrolling through pictures and put your outfit together, as easy as that.

I would have loved to do a Eid inspired lookpost but I don't have a photographer neither do I have the time. So I took advantage and made an Eid Inspo post of some of my favourite looks by international modest Bloggers that made Eid inspiration lookposts. Obviously there's alot of looks/outfits I saw that I loved but there's only so much that can go into one post.

Starting with one of my favourite modest fashion bloggers @mfasadullah in a white and gold kaftan, following with all neutrals, baige and lastly a grey by Inaya collection, not their latest but I still love it.

@dianpelangi,  fashion  designer, entrepreneur &blogger. ... how stunning are these outfits, just to die for.

 beautiful Kaftan dresses

And lastly to add to our outfits,  henna, scarf styles and accessories.

Well what ever you'll be wearing old or new it doesn't matter, style it up, style it down . For more modest fashion and scarf styles check out my Pinterest.
I wish you and your family a Joyous and a Happy Eid Mubarak .

Thank you for reading and keep Shining ♡
