Fashion: One dress - three looks

I hope you enjoying the little break as much as I am.

In todays blogpost I'll be showing you how to wear this stripe dress three different ways depending on the weather. When I saw this stripe dress on Diyana's instagram account I immediately sent her a DM but she replied that they were sold out and promised to have more available by the end of January. Like a small child I couldn't wait for the dress. When I received it I loved how it was the perfect fit, not too long or too short and also not thight and showing curves, I love the flowiness of the dress.



The dress is very versatile. It can be worn with heels for a formal look or dressed down with sneakers or like I'm wearing it with espadrilles for a more casual look. If it's a hot day you don't have to wear anything else with the dress except your shoes and accessories offcourse.

 As we transitioning into more chilled weather I can already feel the breeze some days, there's always a light throw to add another layer to keep warm but not too excessively because we don't want to get too hot though because there's still plenty of sun. This mellow throw just adds a pop of colour and makes it look effortlessly chic don't you think?
 

 

 

A leather jacket always adds that edge to any outfit. No matter what time of the year, winter or summer you can wear it with anything you want whole year through. For winter I can see myself just adding a scarf around my neck with a nice boot.

Hey Beauties,Happy Weekend :)

I guess its everyone's dream to be off weekends rite, it was always mine when I used to work weekends, but even though I don't work on weekends anymore, I spent most of my Saturday mornings cleaning and doing washing. Between all the cleaning and chaos my daughter also wants attention and play, so imagine that, I feel like I'm never getting done. Then when I finally decide to just sit down and take a break, I go on Facebook and Instagram and see everyone is doing something somewhere while I'm slaving,lol, either they having breakfast somewhere, having a mani and padi there, or they at some event and I think to myself when do they clean because tomorrow morning it's the same thing while I'm cooking Sunday lunch.
 So this particular Saturday was one of those , while busy I did a little DIY on my old jeans and made it a little ripped here and there. I then started telling myself I need to get done and finish because I aint spending my whole day cleaning looking like Cinderella in her worst attire. So We took a drive and ended up at this nice spot, while my little angel was sleeping my hubby took a few pictures and well turned it into a lookpost, that's what happens if you don't have a photographer and poor hubby must just be one....hehe.
Yes I'm a busy bee in the mornings but the afternoon I usually like to go somewhere, anywhere just as long as I get out of the house to unwind. It's hectic in the week to go out with so much to do, rushing home, cooking, playing,getting baby ready for bed and a whole lot more. But this whole chaotic Saturday mornings has thought me a lesson to prioritize, get some work done in the week so its not so much over the weekend and the result, more time to spend with my family, go out, dress up  :)

Hey there Shinies...


I'm so happy, it's practically the last working day of twenty fourteen for me, besides the fact that we must be at the office again on Monday to do the last finishes.

I guess the holiday mode was kicking in way in advance, normally I'll wear high heels and formal clothes to the office but slacked down to maxi's and wedges even flats two weeks ago.


In this week I wore my paisley dress I bought from Edgars(Kelso) a few years ago.I still love it till this day, it has a gypsey boho flair to it, the colourful paisley-printed chiffon, and the fact that its a maxi dress makes it a winner.


I always love trying out different scarf styles and attempted to try out the Turban style which I think went perfect with the dress, I styled it with accessories and a pair of white wedges from Foschini, bought three weeks ago(I think its sold out now, because my husband had to go to a different branch to get this pair).

Sunset, Sophistication and a pop of Lime.

I always get the question do you dress like that to work everyday? where do you get the time? yes I do.And believe me I don't have the time but I make the time.
I believe a female must always present herself in a professional manner whether its going to work or just a quick shopping. Its not only appearance that counts but your overall attitude towards life, others and yourself. I try my best to always look presentable when leaving the house, remember the saying about first appearances lasts forever. I'm not saying be mad like me and apply make-up when ever you leave the house, yes that I do, lol, but at least make sure you look decent. Know what looks good on you. A person doesn't have to wear expensive clothes to look good.

About the look:   A Formal/ Professional, Sophisticated  look with a pop of Lime..
On days when I don't have much time to match my outfits with my shoes and accessories etc I go for the black office look which is always the quickest and easiest option. To mix pastels in will not only brighten up your outfit but your day too, you'll get so much compliments because the black makes the colour stand out more.
I'm wearing black the ulimate formal colour mixed with lime which just brings so much energy to the outfit.I also added some lime accessories.

Even though it was windy that evening the view was just oh so stunning and it felt so peaceful and what made it more beautiful was the sunset.

The reason behind the blog name...shiny sequins!

Growing up with a lot of boys around, somehow made me very boyish, tomboy.lol! As I got older things changed and I became this Girly-Girl.

The Sequins clothes, the Shiny shoes, Sparkly accessories all still fascinate me more then ever. They say when you get children it will all change,  in my case it didn't, I  think it just got worse, and the fact that I can play dress-up now with my little girl, all things Pink and Shiny just makes it much more interesting. My mom keeps saying she's gonna be just like me because she loves all these shiny things, but then again, she's a baby, all babies love shiny things.

A friend told me not too long ago Its like my eyes light up and I get all excited when I see shoes, bags etc. Which is so true because that's how I feel when I see beautiful things, especially shoes and I know I'm not thee only one, there's many ladies that feel so.

My blog name actually came from clothing I wore when I was younger, friends use to joke and say 'oooh here comes miss.sequins' coz I loved and still love wearing anything shiny whether its sequins or studs etc. The other thing is my surname Singh-Snyders kinda goes with Shiny-Sequins and my daughters initials is also SS for Shazia Snyders so they all kinda linked.
And that's how I got to ShinySequins :)
