VOC Interview

Hey beauties

I apologise for being so quiet and not blogging as much as I used to, normally once a week but now more like once a month. I've just been very busy with work and offcourse my family. As a mother, wife, student and blogger with a two year old its not easy. So obviously my blogging side of life has to suffer, but I'm not completely quiet and disappeared from planet earth, I have been in contact with another blogger that will be doing a Hijabi lookbook and then the highlight of the month my Interview on radio. I was approached by Roshan Isaacs the MD of Style Africa, Youtuber of the Modest Chapter  (go check out her amazing videos as well as easy scarf styling),Country Manager for the Islamic Fashion and Design Council and host of Cover Mode on the Voice of the Cape radio station. Let me tell you something about Roshan, she's such an inspirational women,  she takes on so many projects,  I have never met her personally up until the day of the interview but have been following her on social media and she's always busy and on the go, at every fashion event looking fabulous and doing her mantra.

I was thrilled that she asked me but the thought of so many listeners made me nervous, my husband mentioned that if you could do an interview on television why not on radio where they don't even see you, yeah right he makes it sound so easy.

So on the morning of the interview I got excited to find out that two beautiful ladies will be joining me, one of my favourite Cape Town bloggers Rushda Behardien  (Wife, Mother, Blogger,Writer and Wardrobe Consultant) the other one Salma Tahseen Kazi-Wahab founder of the clothing label Estatira (The Fashion Harem).,former presenter ,producer on radio Al Ansaar, writer and also currently persuing her Hons in psychology. Both Rushda and Salma are amazing, inspirational business women ,we've been following eachother on Instagram for a while so it was quite exciting to learn more about them and what they do.

When the show was about to start I just got so nervous, Rushda went first and she was awesome,  when I started talking my throat just got soo so dry (did i mention I was sick,  so everything felt dry and blocked) I was so worried about how I would sound being sick. Well it was a rocky start but afterwards I couldn't stop talking, as usual. Roshan gave me a heads up. It was an awesome experience being able to inspire and talk about modest fashion on live radio,  I shukr Roshan for the opportunity. I never thought this little blog would take me places, tv ,radio and most importantly meet all these inspirational individuals, Ma Sha Allah, Shukran to the Almighty.

Some pics taken in the studio.
